Hiller Aviation Museum San Carlos, CA

We went to the Aviation museum to learn and see the different planes. We saw the Wright Brothers plane, which looked uncomfortable and hard to steer. Then we went around and looked around at the many different planes, helicopters, and other things that fly. There was a flight simulated we tried it was hard at first but then it got easier. We saw many planes we thought some of them wouldn't fly at all. There was some that could fly but we thought it couldn't. Then we went to see the cockpit of a plane but there was too many people. We saw some jetpacks and a vertical flying model. There was a plane where you had to push yourself off by running.

My First Broadway Show - Rocky

We went to see the broadway production of "Rocky". It was exciting when the fights started. Even when there was no fight it had a good story. There was only two fights in the whole show but when you see the fights they look as if they are actually fighting. It has a lot of drama set up to its story. When fights start it would put you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out the next move. There were many songs that played during the movie. It was very thrilling and unpredictable of what would happen next.

The Lick Observatory @San Jose CA

When we were coming up the mountain to the Lick Observatory I got dizzy and sick, I almost threw up.
Once we got to the top I was happy to be out of the car. I learned that James Lick the man who had the observatory named from is buried  under the telescope. It was a 36-inch refracting telescope, and was the worlds largest at the time they made it. The way they got it up the mountain was with the use of horses
and mules carrying wagons. I had hot chocolate to help me not throw up and we looked around. We could see many people biking or driving up the mountain. In the museum we could see some of the pictures the telescope took.

MoMA ( June 6, 2014)

When we went to MoMA I was excited, these are the things we did.

We went around and looked at all the different types of paintings by famous artists . Some of them confused me a bit. We looked at some of Andy Warhol's paintings along with Barnette Newmans painting. Picasso had some intresting paintings and clay molding that was abstract. Jackson Pollock had a big painting with paint splatters everywhere I was a little bit confused by it when I first saw it. We only got to go on 2 of the 5 floors they had (4,5) but we still saw a lot of paintings. My favorite painting we saw was Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. We saw a painting with a forest and a chair with 2 colors on it. While I was there I was really tired so we had to take multiple breaks.

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Trip....

On my trip to New York we went to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, this is what I learned from the trip.

I learned that the Statue of Liberty's structure was made by the same man who went on to create a famus tower called The Eiffel Tower the man who did this was named Gustave Eiffel. There was a famus person who crated a very famus poem about the statue, her name is Emma Lazurarus, and the poem she created is called "The New Colossus". There was also a video in The Statue of Liberty's Museum it showed the Process of how they made the tower.

After we visited the statue we went over to Ellis Island where thousands of immigrants housed to process their papers. We took a tour and I saw the great hall and the dorms where they slept. We took a tour and the tour guide took us upstairs while we were going upstairs he told us that the stairs we were walking on was a test and that at the top of the stairs there would be a doctor waiting to examine you, he told us they would write with a chalk if you had any medical concerns like if you were pregnant they would write PG.

Bronx Zoo Report

These are the things I did and learned at the Bronx Zoo.

At the Bronx Zoo I went on the Asian Monorail we waited a long time in the line just to go. After the Monorail we went to the shuttle that would take us around the zoo. The shuttle dropped us off near the Dinosaur Safari so that was the next place we went. I learned a lot about dinosaurs like their shape size and weight, but there was too many to tell all of the shapes, sizes, and their weights. Next We went to go to the tigers and we got to see only one tiger because they are very territorial. We saw polar bears and the brown bears were hiding. We also saw giraffes and we went to the 4d theater show of Ice Age. We went to the butterfly garden, mouse house, and the bug carousel

What I learned about animals

Yesterday I read a book about animals. Here's what I learned from the book.

I learned that sea birds make good parents because they stay with their eggs from 6-14 months. I also learned that raptors have stones inside their gizzard and whatever the raptor can't digest it the gizzard makes special pellets and once it's done eating it spits the pellet out. Another thing I learned was that the longest migration of sea birds was the article tern which flies 12,000 miles both ways.

Another thing I learned from the book is that boneless fish like the sharks, rays, and skates have mouths on the lower part of their head and eyes closer to the top so they can't see what they're eating. I learned that the first fish had no jaws and they were finless there is still two fish that are early fish and that is the hagfish and the lamprey.

Something else I learned from the book is that the biggest monitor lizard is the Komodo dragon which weighs in at about 300 pounds. Lizards have dry scales on their skin and clawed feet. Lizards can use their tongue for ,many things for wiping their mouth clean to catching their food.
